The CSAA has changed quite a bit from the past, and has added three of the four teams from the now defunct Western Waterways. Of the three new teams; Hesperia, Holton, and White Cloud, I think only Holton will compete for the CSAA.

If I'm reading mlive right, it looks like Lakeview still doesn't have a coach and that's not a good thing. Big Rapids had a rough time last year, but it was their coach's first year.

In the end I think the CSAA will be a four team race, between Central Montcalm, Chip Hills, Holton, and Reed City.

I'll admit that I don't know much about many of these teams, but I see that Central Montcalm showed the ability to score a lot of points, and win some games last year.

Chip Hills only lost to a great Alma team by 1 point last year. Of course the only other regular season loss they had was to the Reed City Coyotes. Reed City has maybe the most underrated coach in Northern Michigan with Monty Price. He gets every ounce out of his kids. You hear that a lot, but with Reed City, it's true.

Central Montcalm all the way!!! Chip Hills and Reed City lost there starting running backs who both anchored and you could even say carried the offense...reed citys jv team was all but a joke last year...Holton lost not only there starting QB and running back but the also lost there Defense MLB who was easily the best defensive player they had...the head coach left along with the MLB to Muskegon Big Red...Central only lost one person from there backfield and return all conference QB Spencer Miller, RB Matt Hansen, and WR Cody Nyp...also keep a look out for Defensive Ends Caleb Drake and Ben Zerka to make some noise off the edge...
